1. Not removing your makeup before bed
One of the most common – and most harmful – skincare mistake is not removing your makeup at the end of the day. When you sleep your skin has time to repair damaged cells and replenish moisture.
2. Facial wipes
We know that even though facial wipes are convenient, easy and quick to use, there are a few disadvantages of using facial wipes. Facial wipes do not clean your skin thoroughly. They’ll take off your makeup, but they’ll also strip essential oils from the surface layers of the skin.
3. Over Exfoliating
Another common mistake is over-exfoliating and over-cleansing the skin, both of which can damage the skin barrier. Over exfoliation can damage your skin’s moisture barrier, which in turn can result in a whole host of problems – like inflammation, acne, irritation and sensitivity.
4. Not wearing SPF
All skin experts agreed – wearing daily SPF is a non-negotiable for skin health. Not incorporating effective sun protection methods can lead to skin cancer and speed up the ageing process.
5. Avoiding moisturiser
Apply moisturiser in the morning and in the evening to protect your skin. You can experience skin dryness after a shower or cleanser and this is the time to apply serum and moisturiser into your skin.
