Esse & Co Beauty expands the catalog of the proposed products with Esse Probiotic Skincare cosmetics.
Trevor Steyn, founder of Esse Skincare, studied organic chemistry and completed a master’s degree in 1996. His mentor, prof. Siegfried Drewes, instilled in him a passion for studying the chemical compositions of African plants. After discovering the potential of some of these plants for skin care, Trevor founded his company.
Work on the products began in 2000 with research on Kigelia Africana, the African sausage tree. After two years of research, Esse Probiotic Skincare was born in 2002, the era of the beginnings of the development of ecological skin care products. In 2009, the company started its activity in the field of probiotic skin care. The early discoveries of the Human Microbiome Project began to shift the conventional view of skin, while Esse Probiotic Skincare began to see skin as the ecological human cells and microbial collection.
