Despite coming last on the skin care list for a lot of people, our feet are the foundation of your body and enable us to do most of our daily activities.

Your foot skin care deserves more attention, even though they are often out of sight, they shouldn’t be out of mind. But how can you help keep your feet healthy and beautiful?

Our Skin Expert has prepared a list of beauty tips to keep your feet in good condition & sandals ready.

The skin on our feet

Understanding the physiology of the skin on your feet is key to keeping this part healthy. By understanding the hard skin on your feet you will understand how is important to take care of them as part of your regular routine.

The skin on the soles of our feet is much thicker, has more sweat glands but has no hairs or oily glands.

The skin on the soles of our feet is much thicker than elsewhere on the body and the cells divide more frequently in response to pressure and friction. This allows the skin to thicken and create a protective barrier.

There are no hairs on the soles of your feet; this means there are no sebaceous glands (oil-secreting glands) as these are found in hair follicles. However, our feet have a much higher concentration of sweat glands than anywhere else on the body – on average 125,000 on each foot.

The soles of the feet are also extremely sensitive to touch due to a high concentration of nerve endings, with as many as 200,000 per foot. This rich network of nerves helps the brain to make subtle adjustments when we walk.

Rosehip oil protects, and hydrates the skin & fights free radicals.

Rose geranium oil,  referred to as the “Scented Geraniums.”not only  helps with relaxation but as well as  balancing the skin’s natural oil production, greater feelings of  emotional stability, and optimism..This plant is full of special properties that makes its essential oil effective, and fantastic addition to natural products for your feet. Geranium acts as stimulating as well as helping the blood circulation, have a soothing effect when applied to the skin, and might decrease swelling as a result to protect abrasions from developing infections while also helping them to heal faster..

Let’s not forget about Shea & mango butter. Shea butter works like an emollient. It might help soften or smooth dry skin. Shea butter also contains substances that can reduce skin swelling. Mango butter is an effective moisturizer and may help as well soften your skin.

Have you ever heard about Kokum Butter? Fight Kokum Butter as well in Organic Rose Geranium Foot Balm

Garcinia indica, also known as Kokum, is a plant of the Clusiaceae family. Garcinia indica fruits are orange-size berries containing, inside, about 5 – 8 seeds. It is from these seeds that kokum butter is extracted. This butter has a fat content very similar to cocoa butter ✨

Kokum butter is able to restore elasticity to the tissues, it regenerates the skin and counteracts the degeneration of skin cells, thus performing an antioxidant action against free radical damage.

Highly moisturizing, Kokum butter helps to heal dry and cracked skin, especially soles of feet.

All those ingredients are melted together to deliver the best benefits for your skin & mind.

Importance of feet exfoliation

When it comes to beauty regimens, feet are often overlooked. Using a foot scrub as part of a regular care routine can provide you with many benefits.

  • Using a foot scrub at least twice a week helps to soften the skin and smooth away any calluses on your feet.
  • Regular exfoliation improves the overall appearance of your feet, but more importantly, it can prevent your feet from cracking in very dry weather.
  • Proper foot care can also prevent many types of foot pain.
  • Exfoliation regularly stimulate blood flow in the feet, which can help to alleviate regular aches and pains that come from being on your feet all day.
